About Joe

Joe has been a driving instructor since 2010, helping learners gain the confidence and skills they need to pass their driving test and drive safely for life. After qualifying as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in 2011, he spent several years teaching before expanding his driving experience by obtaining PCV (bus and coach) and HGV licenses. He then spent eight years driving across the UK and Europe, gaining extensive road knowledge and professional driving experience.

In 2020, Joe moved to Thornbury and decided to return to what he does best—helping people learn to drive. He established his driving school in 2021 and requalified as a driving instructor by passing all three ADI exams again. With experience across multiple vehicle types and thousands of hours of tuition, he now focuses on giving learners straight-up, honest advice and tailoring lessons to suit their individual needs.

Joe takes a practical and no-nonsense approach to driver training, helping learners improve at their own pace. Whether someone is a complete beginner, preparing for their test, or looking for extra support, he provides clear, constructive feedback and guidance to help them succeed.

Passing the driving test is more than just getting a licence—it’s a life-changing milestone. It opens up new opportunities, offers independence, and allows people to travel freely. For some, learning to drive comes naturally, while others face challenges such as anxiety, past experiences, or learning difficulties. Joe understands that every learner is different, and his approach is built on honest feedback, tailored instruction.

Nothing brings more satisfaction than seeing a learner overcome challenges, achieve their driving goals, and gain the freedom that comes with being able to drive. Watching someone go from their first lesson to passing their test—especially when they never thought they could—is what makes this job so rewarding.
